French designer. He studied ballet at the Paris Opera Ballet School and Art History and Archaeology at the Sorbonne (1989–90), before performing with Birmingham Royal Ballet (1990–94) and Stuttgart Ballet (1995–98). He then re-trained at the Motley Theatre Design course (1998–9). An elegantly original stylist, he has designed for many companies including The Royal Ballet, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater, Dutch National Ballet, Mannheim Nationaltheater, and Rambert Dance Company. His designs for the Royal Ballet’s staging of Jewels (2007) won an Olivier Award for best new production. He has also designed for opera and theatre.
